Ceremony

When joy and pain present themselves, we can move beyond the superficial into deeper, more meaningful territory.

Is there a Big or Small life event that is calling to be celebrated or commemorated for you in a way that is more than presents and cake?

So often, we go through the motions when it comes to celebrating the transitions in our lives and the lives of our children. We do whatever has been done before, without giving much thought to what it means to us. We get caught up in the (fun!) superficial details and miss the chance to dive deeper into the meaning behind the moment and miss the opportunity for transformation.

Or we do nothing, not knowing how to celebrate the moment because no one else does.

I began to really feel into the need to CELEBRATE FIERCELY with the honoring of my child’s birthday, MY birthing day, each year. I just knew I needed more than goodie bags and balloons to capture what was happening for her and me with each trip around the sun. It wasn’t a want of mine, it was a deep need to welcome in and allow the depth and sacredness of the transition to be felt fully.

After 17 years of celebrating her and me in a deeply meaningful and authentic way and supporting other parents to do the same, I am convinced that as we encounter celebrations, they are fantastic opportunities to grow into a new version of ourself and our capabilities.

This can be done alone, with a delighted witness, with a small group or a large one!

In what areas might we find ourselves with an opportunity for a fiercely celebrated experience of parenthood?

  • wedding showers

  • baby showers

  • birth, adoption

  • coming of age/mile-stone birthdays

  • gender transitioning, coming out

  • starting school, graduations

  • weddings, anniversaries

It’s ok to take up space with our celebrations!

Let’s take up space together.

Past Experiences

We’ve done two ceremonies with Magdalena’s guidance, a bridal shower and a coming of age birthday. Each ceremony embodied the personality of the honored guest, featured personal items and key participants, yet was accessible to a wide-range circle of trusted guests! Magdalena has a way of putting people at ease so our first time and our second time were comfortable and soul-filling experiences. We’ll have a third, fourth, fifth and so on because our family believes that everyone should participate in a ceremony as honored guest or circle of trust often. We need this!

Magdalena led us through a journey of life as specially connected women. It was the best gift I could have received. Better than any shower anyone could have thrown. Magdalena is a powerful facilitator of meaningful connection. She is creative and giving of her unique talent to get you to experience the energy around you. I am so grateful to have had that special moment with her and my family.

I thought the coming of age ceremony for my 13 year old son was great. I would recommend it to someone who wants to celebrate a meaningful transition in a way that feels spiritual but doesn’t want a religious ceremony.
