The Delicate Art of Tenderness

I was recently gifted this poem after holding a recent Support Call for parents. One of the attendees was moved to rethink their approach to a child, making more space for the goodness and intelligence of all involved in the situation to come forward, rather than rushing in with worry and fixing.

Ah, to have tenderness that looks beyond the mess.

And then to have tenderness that includes the mess.

Tenderness for my child, in all her messiness.

Tenderness for me, in all my messiness.

Tenderness for the world.

Such a tall worthy order.
